Use of the Aquatic Medium to Expedite Rehab Following a Shoulder Injury or Surgery:
This webinar will review the physical properties of water and how they impact a patient’s aquatic session. In addition, the majority of the session will be spent offering a variety of aquatic exercises specific to the shoulder/ upper extremities. These exercises will progress from standing, supine, and prone activities with instruction on progression of activities utilizing a variety of aquatic equipment. A treatment flow sheet will also be provided for participants to use with their clients.
Following this presentation viewers will be able to:
- Identify at least 3 physical properties of water and understand the impact on treatment.
- Recognize patient populations that will benefit from treatment in the aquatic medium.
- Carry through an aquatic exercise program for a patient with shoulder impairment from initiation of treatment to discharge.
“I am a programmer primarily for land fitness but I found this webinar extremely informative and creative thoughts came to mind. I am excited to share this information with our Aquatics team and work together to do more creative, innovative and new programming for our Aquatics fitness and rehab."
