World Alzheimer’s Day is on September 21st, which gives us an opportunity to remember that over 6.2 million Americans are living with this progressive disease. Finding a way to support the challenges of movement, communication, pain management and quality of life is the goal in successfully caring for this population. In this webinar we will review studies regarding the benefits of water immersion on the brain and memory. We will provide treatment ideas on ways to encourage, direct and relax patients in water to achieve desired outcomes.

Rachel McDermott has been a licensed PTA for 21 years with extensive clinical experience in acute, long term care, outpatient rehab services and for sports specializing in Aquatic Treatments. Rachel joined HydroWorx International in 2013 with a goal and focus on educating and training clinicians on the benefits of water and how to implement strong Aquatic Therapy Programs and treatments for optimal results for your patients. Rachel has been educating and providing CEU’s for Aquatic Therapy Treatments across the United States for the last 6 years as well as providing ongoing support after. Rachel graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 1997 with a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant licensed in Iowa.
