Please join Paula Osterberger, Wellness Director, and Rachel McDermott, Therapy Director, at Stonehill Franciscan Services in Dubuque, Iowa as they share the successes they’ve had and lessons learned from starting an aquatic therapy program in their senior living wellness and therapy center.
This webinar will review strategies for initiating and maintaining a successful wellness and therapy program with aquatics as its focus. They will share ideas for marketing and tips on how to get a community engaged. They will also discuss how to maximize return on the investment of an aquatic therapy pool. They look forward to sharing their experience and hope to encourage others to take this path to becoming the provider of choice in their area, outshining competitors and changing the perspective of senior living and wellness.

Rachel McDermott graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 1996 with her certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She has been the Director of Rehabilitation at Stonehill Care Center, a skilled long term care and outpatient center for the last 5 years. She recently made the transition to Unity Point Hospital and is now the Director of their Acute Rehab Unit. Rachel’s experience is in acute, skilled and outpatient rehab with the primary focus on creative and progressive forms of therapy within an aquatic setting.
Paula Osterberger is a graduate of Madison College with a Degree in Recreation Management including an emphasis in Health and Wellness. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, completing a certificate in Mass Communications, where she was also a member of the Women’s Rowing Team. Following graduation, she worked as the Assistant Fitness Programmer for the City of Madison, helping to develop youth, adult and senior fitness programs. As the Director of the Stonehill Wellness Center, Paula develops all-inclusive programming for fitness classes and workshops to enrich the daily lives of the members. In addition to working with community members, she aids in the restorative care of the Stonehill residents.
