Join Collin and Mike for a webinar on active aquatic recovery techniques to assist today’s athletes. This webinar is going to review current recovery methods in the water, including precautions associated with aquatic exercise. Collin and Mike how to identify the best aids to facilitate recovery based on "training zone."

  2. Compare and contrast various recovery methods in water and when to initiate them.
  3. Distinguish and Integrate best practice for use of Therapeutic Tools in the water and proposed temperatures.
  4. Analyze what training zone the patient is in to integrate the best aid to facilitate recovery.

Collin Francis, is an Assistant Football Athletic Trainer for the Baltimore Ravens, where he assists the Head Athletic Trainer in all of his duties. He has also been the Interim Head Athletic Football Trainer at Indiana University, where he was also the Director of Rehab for the football team. Prior to that he served two years as the Head Football Athletic Trainer at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD.

Before going to Morgan, he worked for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League where he assisted the Head Athletic Trainer in all aspects of his job including rehabilitation program development.

Collin completed his Masters of Science Degree in Youth Development Leadership at Clemson University. While attending Clemson University he also served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the football team and the swimming and diving teams.

Collin earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Delaware. While there he also served as a Summer Camp Intern for the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League. He served as a Student Athletic Trainer for all of University of Delaware’s Intercollegiate Athletic Teams.

Collin works for the USA Swimming National Team as an Athletic Trainer and Medical Consultant. He was on the staff for the 2013 World University Games in Kazan Russia.
 

Mike Thomas received his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training at the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. During his undergraduate experience as an athletic training student, Mike completed a season-long internship with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He later received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from top-ranked University of Pittsburgh in 2018. While obtaining his DPT, Mike completed a yearlong full-time clinical internship at the Rooney Sports Medicine Complex where he had the opportunity to work with athletes of varying backgrounds. He gained experience working with athletes at high school and collegiate levels, as well as those at a professional level from across the globe. After graduating with his doctorate in Physical Therapy, Mike moved from Pittsburgh to Detroit to work as a Seasonal Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Detroit Lion’s 2018 NFL season. Upon completion of this football season, Mike moved to Atlanta and held a brief position working for the former Alliance of American Football League. Mike has now settled down in Baltimore where he is entering his third season as an Assistant Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist for the Baltimore Ravens. Mike has used various aquatic products over the last 6 year in treating athletes both successfully for rehab and recovery. Mike has used both hot and cold water applications regularly in his career. In addition to his Physical Therapy and Athletic Training licenses, Mike holds certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Emergency Medical Technician, and is certified in dry needling.
